In a study of nearly 3,000 people, researchers found that those who consumed the highest amount of fatty, cold-water fish each day had a 25% reduction in the risk of AMD progression, compared to those with the lowest intake.
From Toronto - According to research in the Canadian Medical Association Journal, taking multivitamins during pregnancy may prevent low birth weight. In a meta-analysis of 13 studies, researchers found that women who received multivitamin supplementation during pregnancy had a 17% greater reduction in the risk of having a baby with low birth weight. The multivitamins used contained 8 to 28 micronutrients.

In a study of 670 participants, researchers found that for each one-hour reduction in sleep duration, the risk of hypertension increased by 37%.
