It has become evident that the fertility of both men and women is decreasing in an accelerating pace, over the last few years. An increasing number of couples report having trouble getting pregnant, and many of them turn to a fertility clinic, and consult with a fertility doctor about their problem.
There is wide verity of Infertility Risk Factors for Men and Women. Let’s cover a few of them:
Infertility causes For Men:
1.A man may suffer from infertility after having genital infection, or sexually transmitted diseases
2. Exposure to dangerous areas, such as areas with radiation or radioactivity. Also handling dangerous materials such as lead, ethylene dibromine, and vinyl chloride.
3. Smoking cigarettes or marijuana effects the fertility levels of men.
4. Heavy use of drugs and/or alcohol.
5. If genitals are exposed to high temperatures, than fertility may decrease temporarily or permanently.
6. DES taken by mother during pregnancy may cause giving birth to a sterile baby boy.
7. Taking prescription drugs for ulcers or psoriasis
8. Undergoing a hernia repair surgery
9. Having mumps after puberty
And as for infertility causes For Women - woman’s reproduction system is more complex, therefore, woman’s inability to ovulate, conceive, or deliver a child successfully, can come from the following reasons:
1. The age factor is a key player in woman’s fertility. Women in their late 30s are about 30 percent less fertile than women in their early 20s
2. Irregularities with the function of the endometriosis may decrease fertility.
3. All kinds of chronic diseases (lupus, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis or asthma)
4. Hormonal imbalance - can be treated with medication, in many cases.
5. Environmental factors - smoking cigarettes, alcohol drinking, exposure to workplace toxins or hazards.
6. excessive or very low body fat
7. DES taken by mother during pregnancy may effect fertility
8. Sexually transmitted diseases
9. Fallopian tube disease
10. Multiple miscarriages
It’s easy to observe that a few of the infertility factors have increased in the last few decades. For example, many couples get married in their 30s, thus having a statistically increased chance of infertility. Another factor is the increased environmental factors - today’s world is polluted and more toxic than ever, and it affects the fertility or man and woman alike.
In today’s hectic lifestyle, we are also much more stressed out than we were 40 years ago. This is another factor that effects fertility.
To conclude - the modern life style has it’s price when it comes to men and woman’s ability to conceive and bring a child to this world. This trend continues to grow, and some predict that in 100 years most men will be sterile. If we don’t do something to better our world fast, our grandchildren will pay the price.

pains from drinking at the pub last night?
Shortly after i’d finished drinking for the night I got horrible sharp pains in my chest spreading down to my lungs and stomach. It felt like strong period pains but in my chest, didn’t last long but it hurt so much. This isn’t the first time either, a few months ago when I got drunk the same thing happened but the pain was mainly in my heart that time, and lasted up to a week, almost feeling like a heart attack at some point. I’ve got a disease that effects my fertility (PID), so i’m not sure if the drink has triggered off the pains i get from my disease or if it is decreasing my fertility more? I’ve been drinking for years, and these problems have only happened since I found out about my disease. Even when smoke a cigarette (when i did, as I gave up 3 months ago) I get the same tightening pains in my chest. I’m confused about what causes this. I think I may have anxiety on top of all my other problems, so could it also be that the drink is reacting and possibly the cause?
Cont..Last year because of drink I was constantly sick after drinking as my body didn’t want it anymore, then eventually my body got used to the drink and i’m never sick from it now, almost as if my body needs it? I do often recognise having pains randomly, but I always assume it’s down to the disease, then I realise i’m craving alcohol a lot. I need it to have a good time and to give me confidence as I have problems with being around people and crowds. I’m not an alcoholic, I don’t drank enough to be one (once or twice a month), but I guess I am dependant on it for security. There’s so many things that could be causing these pains etc, that i’m not sure if it’s serious. I’m used to constant pains because of the disease I have, so I don’t always notice when I get them. What do you think it could be judging by my life style?? Is my body giving up on alcohol already? I will visit a doctor eventually but I was wondering if anybody could give me advice first. I’m an almost 19 year old girl
thanks all. i didnt realise it would effect me so quickly. i mean my dad is an alcoholic but it took him years to get the way i am and he drinks a lot.
my heart beats fast when i drink, i get palptations too and my head starts beating then i tense up. it only lasts a while then goes back to normal, although the fast heart beat and palpatations are a usual thing i get.
im under a lot of stress yes but not because of uni or exams, im a stressed person from simple things and its been a rough year for me this year, what with so much going on. and i dont take well to change.

if you got any problem its best not to drink anymore unless its a occasion you want to celebrate but other than that less drinking is better for you. If it continues go to the doctor and see if they can help

Go see a doctor and tell him/her all about it, at least get some kind of insight into the physical issues you have.
You’re 19? I’m guessing it’s a stressful time for you, exams, going to uni, that kind of thing … this could be contributing to the physical issues also, psychsomatically. Ease off the booze altogether, it’s not doing you any good. Do something on a daily basis to ease your stress and improve your physical condition - a good walk or cycle for half an hour will work wonders. And eat properly. And get enough sleep.
Half the time we get sick simply because we don’t do three basic things properly: eat, exercise and sleep.

I’m not entirely sure hun, but you may be experiencing pain associated with disphagia. This is a disorder where your esophageal muscles do not work together to swallow properly which can lead to painful stretching and pulling of the esophageal walls and muscles and can eventually lead to formation of diverticuli which can become inflamed and irritated.

I have had 10 stents inserted in my arteries around my heart, because of blockages and bad flow to the heart. I have had soooooo manyoperation (from the age of 31 - now, 57). I used to enjoy a bacardi or a brandy when I was younger, but although I have no pains in my chest now, because of the stents, IF I had a small brandy at a restaurant after a meal, within 10 minutes my heart beat much faster, and I feel a ‘tightening’ feeling in my chest and down my arm….I sweat, and my face and chest flushes………..so, you know what I decided? I DON’T DO IT ANYMORE!!!! The spirit raises your blood pressure, and affects your heart - believe me I have been in so many hospitals (and ambulances) to know what I am talking about……..I do have my white wine now and again within reason, and I have been fine now for a few years, it’s your body’s way of saying…NO MORE! Don’t take my word….you must know you have to see the doctor, or you’ll be travelling in an ambulance soon.

Sounds like alcohol poisioning. If you drink to much you body can become toxic with alcohol and no enough water.
The body is fight to survive with what it has and your killing organs with the toxic levels of alcohol in your blood stream.
When you wake up in a hospital with a Doctor on your chest trying to pump your heart to get fliuds in you and keep you alive you’ll understand what I mean. Keep on drinking lol.

You could be having a heart attack, or you could be having a gall bladder attack which acts very much the same. And because of the drinking, you could be having an attack from some other organ in your body as well. You need to see a doctor right away….and stop drinking if you want to live. You "might" still have time.

Firstly I would say, why do you find it necessary to drink, drink and drink. At least you’ve given up smoking. I would say, this is the ideal time to stop drinking completely. Just a bit of willpower and you can do it and you will feel so much healthier - perhaps not immediately, but soon after. Speak to your doctor for help if you need but for goodness sake, if you are worried about your fertility problems as well, common sense should have told you to stop drinking and abusing your health ages ago.
