Pregnancy Induced Hypertension at delivery 19 years old?

Hi! I just delivered my daughter about 6 days ago and at delivery i developed PIH I was wondering if anyone else has gone through this at 19 years old or around there my doctor says its very abnormal for this to be happening at my age but everything i read online says it mainly occurs in first pregnancies in women under 20 and over 35

what were your treatments?
how long did it take to get rid of?
what can i do to help this aside my meds?

today my blood pressure was 140/99 and then i tested again and it was 124/85 it always just jumps around.

i keep thinking im just going to have a heart attack or something and die i need reassurance and no one is giving that to me… i just had my baby and am supposed to be happy but im more worried than anything please help!

No experience here, but I do know that stress can cause your BP to be higher. Try and relax and just follow your doctor's orders.

I was 22 when I had my son, I developed it at 30 weeks and had to take blood pressure medication. My son is now 6 months old and I still have to take medication. :(

I was a couple of years younger when I had my first child and had preeclampsia, which is a form of hypertension. I would try a low salt diet. It sucks, but I think it helped me. I don't know how much you should limit your salt intake to, but you might be able to look up low salt diets online. Get some Mrs. Dash seasoning and I believe the salt maker Morton…I think, makes a low sodium salt. I'm 25 now so it is a little vague to me, but hope it helps.

Well, Im 40 Weeks & 3 Days (20 years old) and my BP was good all thru pregnancy. It was like 112/75–I had no swelling, nothing—Then BOOOM! 39 Weeks came and I had BP thru the roof!!! I was like 141/85, and mine does the same thing, it jumps all around!! I know people are saying that 141/85 isn't a bad BP reading, but for someone who was 112–it it bad. Don't worry about having a heart attack, its not going to happen-it takes about 6 weeks for your BP to go back to normal, so don't worry about it, just enjoy the time you have with your new baby!! Ohh and swelling hit me REAL bad at 39 weeks also, I cant even wear my rings anymore…kinda sad, I miss my wedding rings!! :( But you'll be fine, just know it will go back to normal in a couple of weeks—enjoy that baby!! Im so jealous, I wish mine would come out! LOL
