The injection is …
The injection is not producing energy, it’s absorbing it, in the form of heat. As the water goes from liquid to gas states, none of the surrounding gas can rise in temp. When you’re doing this you don’t have to run as rich in certain circumstances, so you can trick you ECM to run leaner(still higher then stoich). Long-term water injection actually shows cleaner engine components and higher engine life. Do a little research. This is a digital enhancement to time-tested technology.
he said the water …
he said the water prevents the knock damage when running lean. you need to listen
Actually, the …
Actually, the system works well at what it does. Running a car lean can be catastrophic, if nothing else is done. During normal driving an engine runs rich, so that the fuel will not explode until the desired point. Substituting water for gas becomes an alternative when the air to fuel mix is richer then stoich. There have been studies on water injection in internal combustion engines for decades, and these long-term affects have been well documented.
you’d have to do so …
you’d have to do so much monitoring and specific car tunning to keep an engine from knocking. unless you’re a software wiz i just dont see you getting around OBDI/OBDII computers…and for $40 you’re definetly not on the right track sounds to me like that system is a little container with a little water pump..
THIS GUY IS AN …
THIS GUY IS AN IDIOT…running lean will cause SOO much damage to your engine. he’s an electrical engineer..wow what a sucky university. i’m a mechanical engineer working for a fuel cell company (hydrogen for the ignorant ppl). take my word for it.
that is in no way water injection to produce energy…so it shouln’t be called that. Its tricking your engine to use less gas. Sure save money today, a year, two down the road you’ll need a new engine. ROLF
Now this is GOOD! I …
Now this is GOOD! I give it 5 stars for the invention. What is the cost of your unit?
You’re right water …
You’re right water injection has been around since WWII and is not new. However those other water injection systems can cost up to $1000, and do nothing for economy. They also don’t do any ECM signal manipulation, and are used to increase the boost pressure-HP. What this one is doing is decreasing the amount of gas you run by manipulating signals. It’s a different way of using water injection, so that the everyday driver can benefit from it, not just the racers. Thanks for the comment.
Remember though, …
Remember though, the water cools the air/fuel charge, raising the effective octane and slowing combustion. This prevents burned valves and pistons and also the water expands into steam, increasing cylinder pressure. It’s not a new idea. WW2 fighter planes had this technology as well as many truckers that use it today. There are many water injection kits available. Google it for yourself.
kronicstalker…. …
kronicstalker….only if you run it way lean
but if its only increased a little it will only produce more heat
You are exactly …
You are exactly right. Normally running a car lean can cause catastrophic damage because of knock; however, the supplemental injection changes the range in which knock occurs. The system actually monitors all of these important parameters to keep your engine safe at all times. The injection allows you to lean your mixture without the chance of causing knock. Thanks for the comment.
Running a car lean …
Running a car lean isnt good for the motor. can cause damage to the pistons.
