You buy puppy milk/puppy formula, not baby milk.
When the mother has eclampsia the puppies should
be taken away from her and you should feed the puppies.
She should not be feeding the puppies.

This information about bottle feeding puppies is not your standard, out-of-the Vet book instructions because those are available everywhere. These are extra tips and recommendations based on thirty years hands-on experience, gained through working along side of veterinarians as a breeder of Champion dogs, and, as an all breed master groomer and certified obedience and multi-purpose dog trainer. I hope you will find this article helpful for raising big, strong and healthy puppies. Always have a few towels handy when you are taking care of puppies. The younger the puppy is, the warmer you will have to keep them, do not let the puppies get chilled. I have found that for all breeds of puppies other then the tiny toys, normal human baby bottles and nipple sets work best. Most breeds out grow those little puppy kits nipples and bottles, so don't waste the money. Look at the size of your mother dog's underside and the human bottle with nipple is about the right size when you compare, even if it looks like the nipple is to big, newborn puppies have large mouths so don't worry, unless it is a very small mother dog. For Bottle feeding it is best to sit with the puppy on top of a towel on your lap. If the puppy is not farmilar with the bottle, you may have to open its mouth using your fingers, gentle rub a little milk on the puppy's lips and use the nipple on the bottle the same way to open the mouth as you did your fingers until the puppy gets the idea and takes the nipple. Sometimes at first you have to open the pup's mouth and get the nipple in until they know what to do. Make sure that the milk covers the hole to the nipple inside the bottle or the puppy will get air. Depending on the pup, you have to hold the bottle so they do not get air in the nipple. Watch this closely and some pups really go for it on a bottle, they can suprise you with their gusto. Burping the puppy is very important. If the puppy's mother is able to lick and clean the puppy then that is the best natural burper. But if the mother isn't available then you have to do it or the puppy will get sick. Be sure and burp a couple of time during a feeding. To Burp: Hold the puppy gently upright on your shoulder like a baby and pat him on his back or rump very easy and you will hear him burp. Rubbing him gently also works. Always make sure to burp puppy well before you put them to bed. When you see the pups belly full and it slows down eating, then he has had enough and you can burp him. Don't be suprised if the puppy wets and goes potty, this too, is very important for the puppy to do and if it has no mother to help with this then you should use the towel and pat and rub lightly on its privates so the pup can relive itself before bed. The mother dog does this for puppies up to about ten days old. Burping and helping with potty is as important as keeping orphan newborn puppies warm. If your puppies are not doing well then it may be that they have gas and air from bottle feeding without this care and attention that the mother dog usually gives.

NO, go to the pet store & get some puppy formula. They should be eating puppy chow softened by the puppy formula as well as having a bottle several times a day.

My best suggestion is call a vet. You can find one in your yellowpages. You don't have to set up an appointment, and pay money to find out the answer to your question. Just tell the person who anwers the phone, than you have a animal, and you are not sure what to do in that situation. Let them know the situation, and then expect to be put on hold for a bit. While the receptionist finds an available vet to ask, and she will get back on the phone, and tell you if baby formual will be alright and helpful to your dog, or what you should get for the dog. Even if its not baby formula, it should be somewhat cheap, and at a grocery store or walmart.

Call your vet since I know your a backyard breeder and doesn't have a breeding mentor.

Do NOT fee your puppy's milk for crying out loud.

Get your dog spayed. You have no business breeding. You don't have a friggin clue.

No, use the formula made for puppies. Gte it from the vet or pet store. Mom should be okay if the pups aren't nursing. Feed her puppy food and you could add a little formula to her food as well.
