…when did they schedule your induction? My doctor wants to induce me at 37 weeks which is next weekend. He hasn't scheduled it yet. I have an appointment tomorrow, Tuesday, and then next Friday. He said he will give me as much notice as possible, but I am getting anxious. Thanks for any replies.
I will be exactly 37 weeks on the 6th of April. The highest my blood pressure has gotten is 146/88. It is steadily going up and has been since 30 weeks. My swelling has gotten worse and I have a constant headache. No protein in my urine, but they did just have me do a 24 hour urine collection which the results have not come back yet. He is just concerned about the stress my body is under. I already have dilated to 2 cm and 50%effaced, so I have a favorable cervix.
I had pregnancy induced hypertension and my doctor was supposed to induce me when i was 38 weeks along, but i ended up having a c-section because my baby was breech, i had placenta previa.
Don't be worried, induction is not that bad and as long as you have a good doctor, you and your baby are in safe hands! Good luck!

Are you sure about your dates? You are exactly 37 weeks? Ask your doctor if he has done any tests and what do they indicate? Have they drawn blood, 24 hour urine? What is your BP, do you have alot of swelling? Headaches abdominal pain? Depending on how severe your disease is depends on when you should deliver. The only cure is delivery. Your baby could still have respiratory issues at 37 weeks. When the dr. weighs everything out he will decide when it is best for your baby to be born. Your dr. seems to be watching you closely which is good. This disease can get bad real fast. Good Luck! Better to err on the side of safety. I imagine your Dr will give you a cervical ripener at night then Pitocin in the early am.

Your baby will be technically full term, but have you discussed steroids to develop the baby's lungs, or tests to see how developed the lungs are right now? They are given in shots, one on one day and the 2nd the next. Definately worth asking about, in case the baby's lungs aren't fully developed. The steroids only take 2 days to work, and can prevent respiratory problems.
