Sorry I havent posted in a while. I’ve Been Busy and I’ve Had Writer’s Block. So…Here’s Chapter 13!!!!
*Ashley’s POV*
*It’s been about three weeks since Lila was born. And Kevin and I have gotten absolutely NO sleep. Having her is amazing, but I just wish we could get more sleep. The entire birth experience was indescribeble. As in it was more than horrible. Kevin’s parents are still getting used to having a grandchild. But they’ve warmed up to me. We were at a party, at Haylee’s house to celebrate Emily’s birthday. Everyone was there. Including all of Kevin’s family.*
Kevin-Hey Ashley *I heard him call from the living room. I walked in. He had Lila in his arms. She was screaming.*
Ashley-Yeah?
Kevin-Can you take her? I think she’s hungry.
Ashley-Yeah sure. *I took Lila from Kevin. As I was leaning in to get her, Kevin quickly kissed me on the cheek.*
Ashley-What was that for?
Kevin-I don’t know. I just felt like it. *He smiled at me. I smiled back. I grabbed a bottle from the diper bag and fed Lila. Kevin got up from where he was sitting and we walked into the kitchen where everyone was eating Emily’s bitrthday cake. I looked down at Lila. She was still eating. I loved her so much. Joe, Jessie, Nick, Haylee, and Emily walked over to us when they were done with their cake.*
Nick-Hey guys.
Jessie-How’s it goin? You know with the whole parent thing.
Ashley-It’s really really difficult. I’ll tell you that. Don’t get pregnant until you’re ready.
Haylee-Well, we know that Ash.
Ashley-Yeah. *I looked down at Lila again. She was sleeping now.*
Ashley-Kevin, do you wanna take her?
Kevin-Yeah. Absolutely. *Kevin gently took her from my arms. He walked into the living room with her. Nick and Joe followed. I turned back to the girls.*
Emily-Let’s go upstairs. We wanna talk to you. *She said looking at me.*
Ashley-Okay. *Jessie, Haylee, and Emily started walking upstairs. I followed. We got upstairs and went into Haylee’s room. When we got in there, Jessie and I sat on a little couch and Haylee and Emily sat on the bed. That’s when a tear ran down my cheek.*
Haylee-Ash, are you okay?
Jessie-Why are you crying?
Ashley-I don’t know. I guess…it’s all just too overwhelming.
Emily-What is?
Ashley-Having Lila. Dealing with it all. And lately, Kevin and I have been fighting more. I can’t do this.
Jessie-Yeah you can. You just have to get through this. You’ll get used to it. *I stopped crying a little.*
Ashley-Yeah. I guess you’re right. *We sat there for a few more minutes, then decided to go back downstairs.*
