When a doctor tells the date of conception and all, how accurate can it be? If you’re one of those women who has a "period" throughout her pregnancy, obviously you can’t really go by the last period you had, since you may not know which was the actual period and which was just bleeding but you were pregnant. Anyone know?
This is why they do a dating scan at 12 weeks. It is to double check the dates you have are right.

Usually the bleeding is different in some way. It may be lighter, not last as long as a normal period or be a different colour. This is why when they ask the date of your last period they usually ask you if it was a "normal" period.
