Foot Reflexology During Pregnancy

Despite what you might read in papers, pregnant women can benefit from reflexology treatment. You can start the treatment from the end of the third month right until the birth. Once or twice a month is the recommended rate of visits but if you love it, you can have weekly sessions.

Pregnancy can be a wonderful time for the future mum, surrounded by loved ones, pampered by the future dad, blessed with childbearing wish, delighted to become a mum. However, pregnancy can also be a source of stress, discomforts and health problems: how to become a perfect mother, adjusting to body and hormonal changes, sleep disorders, heartburns, backaches, heavy legs, etc…

Foot reflexology brings many benefits for the future mum and can be of enormous support, in particular, it gets rid of stress and tensions, brings about deep relaxation, can regulate and improve blood circulation, eases backaches, provides a state of well-being during pregnancy and helps the mum to be more attentive to her baby. Reflexology can also be helpful in labour and delivery, some midwifes are using the treatment for pain relief during labour.

Foot reflexology is a natural holistic therapy which has been around for a long time, in various forms. It is mainly a preventive therapy which also helps chronic disorders. With foot reflexology, you can restore mental and physical equilibrium, eliminate toxins and disperse negative energies such as stress.

It should be made clear that reflexology is not intended to diagnose or treat medical conditions, and is not a replacement for conventional medical practice. In particular, you should consult your GP if you are at risk of pre-eclampsia or diabetism

Initial Indicators:

Generally known as morning sickness, nauseatic feeling or even vomiting can be early pregnancy symptoms. Nauseatic feeling can occur at a very early stage and many of us mistake it as a consequence of food poisoning or even something that is coming down with a cold. Early pregnancy symptom can also be felt when you become over sensitive to smells in everyday life, especially foodstuffs, such as tea, coffee and toasts. These everyday smells can really trigger nauseatic feeling.

Frequent urination and breast tenderness are also early pregnancy symptoms, frequent urination usually occurs in the early stages of pregnancy. Unlike normal situations, you find yourself running to the toilet more often and there is not respite at night also. It is common complaints of women to their doctors that their breasts and nipples are becoming extremely tender and the nipples are enlarging. Tenderness of breasts and enlargement of nipples are early pregnancy symptom and these changes prepare you for breastfeeding after the baby as born.

The first indication and infact the earliest symptom of pregnancy is a missed menstrual period. Often frequent cramps and back pain are early pregnancy symptoms. However, as a part of prevention measure, you should always consult your doctor in case any cramping or light bleeding occurs. You tend to miss your food unintentionally and it is also early pregnancy symptom. Continuous skipping of food lowers your blood sugar level and it can make you feel dizzy or in extreme cases you can even faint.

Constipation, irritating behavior pattern, indigestion, changes in the texture of your complexion and increased cervical mucous are all early pregnancy symptoms. To know more about early stages of pregnancy, you can always read pregnancy journals to have a clear and better understanding. It can be surprising but weight loss during the first trimester of pregnancy can also be an early pregnancy symptom. Pregnancy health issues are something which every woman should know, either through journals or by consulting a doctor.

Easier to get pregnant after having a full-term pregnancy?

I have heard that your chances of conceiving again, after having carried a baby to full term, are increased.

The reasons why, I have had more difficulty finding, but have heard that it has something to do with your body being "familiarized" to pregnancy.

I was just wondering if this is true or not?
And if anyone could further enlighten me with the facts surrounding it.

Thanks =)

its not that your body is used to pregnancy, it is that your body is still producing hormones higher than normal so in the months to year after a full term pregnancy the hormones make it easier to get pregnant

It also provides much-needed relief to sore and swollen breasts. Postnatally, Breast is Best Balm is the perfect balm to keep your nipples soft and hydrated. Any breastfeeding mom will tell you that a nipple balm or cream is an absolute necessity – otherwise, your nipples could end up dry, cracked and even bleeding.
