My blood pressure goes up and down, today is was 118/71, but the other day it was 140/85. I have 2+ protein in my urine everytime they check. Just mild swelling in my hands, see a few spots now and then. No headache or right quad pain. I keep reading that you get put on best rest with these signs, but I haven't, my dr. says everythings fine. Why variance in blood pressure levels and why with my symptoms does my doctor say I should be fine, when everything I've been reading says otherwise? Just concerned about whether I should be more concerned.

I also had those symptoms during my pregnancy. My doctor saw me once a week from five months on due to protein in my urine. I had an ultrasound once a week from 7 months on and stress tests. My doctor also put me on bed rest and eventually delivered me..this is after multiple tests such as a 24 hour urine to test my protein level in that period. I really would get a second opinion. I was going into pre eclampsia and needed emergency delivery. Those are Early signs to pre eclampsia. If you do not want to get a second opinion I would get a blood pressue cuff and make a log of your morning blood pressures. My doctor told me that it was normal to have an increased blood pressure after a days work, but to check it when you just wake up from sleep that will show you what your resting b/p is. Has anyone ever heard of someone declining bed rest and the doctor letting them. I have a friend who has PIH and is swollen very badly and has *declined* bedrest and is continuing to work, despite her doctors request. They didn't require it and he did tell her that if she didn't go on bedrest she should check it frequently and if it was still high call him- but it was and she didn't because she knew he'd say "go home" have you ever heard of something like this. She also said "I don't care what anyone says- I'm working through Friday" but, thing is- she has a good job but works with a team of people who can easily fill in for her (as they will have to when she goes on leave!!) Please help. I'm so frustrated!!!

I had pre-eclampsia(toxemia) when I was pregnant. This is where you have protein in your urine, high blood pressure and migraines, and several other side effects. I bet she thinks she cant lose the baby because she is so far along. I had a friend do the same thing and she actually passed away because of this. I am not trying to scare you or her but she needs to take this VERY SERIOUSLY!!! Look up Pre-eclampsia… This is a VERY REAL THING!!! I wish her the best of luck but she really needs the time off, and if the doc says owell she needs to go to a doctor that cares. I dont think her doctor cares about the patient or her baby if they are telling her she is okay. Is she on Blood Pressure meds? I was on Propanalol when I was pregnant and it worked somewhat… I do wish you and your friend luck. I hope she listens before it is too late!

I am about 17 days late on my period. I have been having light bleeding when i wipe like for two days then it goes away and just the other day it was there one more time, but is gone now. I took a home pregnancy test and it was negative, but i took it a while ago and think it may have been to early. I am tired all the time, sore breast, some light cramping, and very frequent urination. I will be going to the doctor tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone else had any light bleeding like that.

ok yes i am ttc and i am worried because i have never had anything like this at all i am still haveing the cramps in my uterus that i have never had and all symptoms of pregnancy and this is not normal for me the bleeding is not like a regular period any way it is way way way lighter and is not blood red and is like sticky what is going on i am afraid and i took a test yesturday and it was neg but i never start early like this and it is not constant what should i do could i still be pregnant

Bleeding or spotting can occur during pregnancy. In fact some women have full periods through out their pregnancies.
* missed menstrual period
* nausea
* extreme fatigue
* frequent urination
* tender breasts
* headache
* heartburn
* constipation
* spotting
* feeling faint
are signs of early pregnancy.

Also a test might not show you are pregnant right now because the Hcg levels in your urine are not concentrated enough. The only way to know for SURE is a blood test or you could wait a week or two and try another home test again. Good luck.

I feel like I get period cramps but I'm not even sure if I'm pregnant. ALL of the symptoms are there. but is it possible to feel period cramps during early pregnancy? the cramps don't last long at all. just a few seconds.

yes this is possible. i actually experienced this myself when i was around 4-7 weeks pregnant. it was annoyin because it felt like i was gonna get my period next time i go to the bathroom.

It can be normal. If the cramping is present with spotting or a heavier discharge, definitely call your doctor. A lot of times, especially if you are small built, the broad ligaments of your lower abdomen and pelvis stretch, which can cause this feeling. Just keep a close eye on it, and if it is causing you stress, then just give your doc a call.

im iregular with my periods i get them every 3-4 months late and im a litlle over weigh and i want to get pregnant but im having difficulties getting to that stage what can i do get there?

First, prenatal vitamins won't help you get pregnant. It only help to maintain vitamins in a woman's body that the baby takes.

Now, you would need to go to a Gynecologist, to get treatment for that problem. He or she would give you pills to help regulate your cycle. It would take a while but if you really want it, then go for it.

Don't give up, I've heard of women with the same problem and now have two or three kids. It's just a matter of patience.

Hello everyone. I recently had some blood work done, at the request of my doctor. I had been having lower abdominal pains, pain during intercourse, and difficulty in getting pregnant. He ordered several different tests, most of which came back normal. However, there was on that was WAYYYY off. My DHEA levels came back as 2423. The normal for my age range (I’m 21) was listed between 162-995. He tried to explain this to me as well as he could, but he’s just a regular family physician, and he told me straight out that endocrinology was not his favorite part of medicine.

Can any doctor/nurse/anyone who knows anything about these things give me some idea as to what a number that high means, or at least direct me to a website that can explain it?

DHEA is a hormone that is a precursor to estrogen and testosterone. I don’t know what this high level specifically means for you, though. Regardless, you need to see a reproductive endocrinologist to figure this out.
